Our equines
Since 2020, Nos Amis Pour La Vie has welcomed and protected dogs in distress in Marrakech. But our mission does not stop there.
Over the years, we have also opened our doors to equines who suffered abandonment, abuse and exploitation.
Our commitment
Equine suffering is sadly widespread. Many spend their lives working in difficult conditions. When they become too old, injured or exhausted, they are often abandoned and left without care.
The sanctuary’s first rescue was Pépita, a donkey found in an alarming condition, with a severely damaged leg and a twisted hoof. We cared for and supported her for nearly four years before she finally found a loving family in Marrakech.
Since that first rescue, our commitment to equines has continued to grow. Today, the sanctuary is home to 2 horses, 2 mules and 8 donkeys. Each carries a story often marked by suffering, but also by incredible resilience.
When they arrive, we do everything we can to help them rediscover the calm, safety and dignity they deserve.

Rest, care and freedom
At the sanctuary, our equines live freely together in a peaceful environment where they can finally rest and enjoy life.
They receive suitable food, regular care and the daily attention of our team. Our goal is simple: to give them a peaceful life far from pain and exploitation.
Whenever possible, we also seek responsible and caring families for them. Several equines have already been adopted in Marrakech. Donkeys who once knew suffering and abandonment now live in beautiful gardens.
Support them
Caring for an equine requires significant resources. Between hay, veterinary care, farriers and daily upkeep, the average cost for one equine is around €150 per month.
Thanks to your donations, these animals can finally experience rest, safety and the gentleness of a protected life.
